Please correct the following items, though I understand how they enlighten the 2700's cause:
-Matewan was produced in 1986/87. The 765 was designated as "2765" in 1993, the last year it operated before undergoing a full rebuild from 2000-2005. Therefore, the 765 did not operate as 2765 during the filming of Matewan. In fact, the road number and lettering was painted over for the purpose of the filming.
-The 765 did not utilize material in the form of a side rod or running gear apparatus from 2700 at any point, though negotiations for both use of the locomotive and/or its parts was at one time a factor as your letter indicates. Additionally, though this is a mere nitpick, the designation for non-C&O 2-8-4s is Berkshire, not Kanawha.
I believe these corrections can only further assist in your effort to clear the matters on the 2700. A few errors in one segment can lead some to believe there may be typos or other things elsewhere.

Dr Dean and I have opened a web page for the specific purpose of keeping interested parties informed regarding the ALCO 2700 stored for safe keeping at Dennison Railroad Depot Museum.
We will be uploading legal documents and links to various news articles from our respecitve archives.
This will put to bed the fugitive claim by the Depot that they have a vested claim against the interests of Mr. Dean, Mr. Kallas and Mr. Muncy.
The web site will be located at http://www.alco2700.com
